The body of Lina, a 15-year-old girl who disappeared in September 2023 from the Bas-Rhin region of France, was found in mid-October 2024. Her remains were discovered in a remote, wooded area near Nièvre, about 500 kilometers from her home.
Investigators confirmed her identity through urgent genetic testing. “Lina” had disappeared while walking to a train station to meet her boyfriend in Strasbourg.
The investigation revealed troubling details, including evidence that Lina may have been tied up at some point. DNA from both Lina and a suspect, Samuel Gonin, was found on ropes in a car linked to her disappearance. Gonin, who was the main suspect, had committed suicide in July 2024 before being questioned by authorities
This case has deeply affected her family, who are currently awaiting further forensic reports.
